Watched MIRACLE (2004) yesterday.
It’s a sports film, and I want to say that I’m not a sports film guy, but I’ve watched several lately that were super fun: The Boys in the Boat (2023) and Young woman and the Sea (2024). Makes me wonder if I’m just looking for that hit of nostalgia. Those underdog sports films are good at manufacturing the feels.

I watched this the other night on TV, it was much better than I was expecting and gave the wife and I a good few chuckles.
If you loved the He-Man cartoon you will love this.

Just finished watching it myself! Fun and silly. I think I must have had a He-Man cartoon on VHS as a child because it all seemed very familiar to me.
Jared Leto strikes again! That guy can do anything. His portrayal of Paolo Gucci in House of Gucci blew my mind. I’d never know it was him unless I looked it up. Same with Skeletor.
The climactic battle sequences made me feel like I was watching King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Sure enough, Daniel Pemberton scored both. It was like a cut-and-paste. Both great films.

been a little while since we seen this movie... fortunately got a little lucky and watched it last night...
side-notes: didn't know Kevin other than going to the Quick Stop once in awhile during some beach and boardwalk trips... one morning we stumbled upon the Quick Stop being blocked off to find out months later a movie was being shot there...

The Films made in G.O.D., aka good old days with people who could keep an audience because they were Actors, and Actresses without 90% of the flick being special effecters. Plus computer aided graphics. We better then most of theocrat bring put out today IMHO.
Film like the DI with Jack Webb, Mad Mad Mad World with some of Hollyweird Greats, Most of Charles Bronson films, and the list in long of pre 1970 master pieces.

That seems to be a trend these days.
Music and effects get louder all the time in relation to dialogue. I have trouble making sense of films without subtitles, despite having decent hearing as verified by required hearing tests in manufacturing over the years.
Not sure if that was your problem, but it almost certainly would have been mine. Sorry you had to deal with that. I’d have been up a creek without earplugs, probably.
It does seem to be a trend. The dialogue was perfectly audible even with earplugs, which leads me to believe that the entire movie could have been shown at a lower volume without losing anything.
Personally I think that it's down to the fact that gone are the days when people would sit quietly watching a movie or be ejected, they're probably cranking the volume to drown out the people gossiping, eating noisily and posting on Faecesbook because they're not prepared to remove them.
