Many a good tune played on an old fiddle, I'm not a typical pensioner though, aged 66 I don't take a single prescription tablet, been the same weight 12 stone for 45 years, I'm pretty fit and active so middle age Women are my benchmark.

Last week having dinner, and stayed overnight at her place. Her legs are like a strong pair of pliers wrapped around my waist in a sitting chair positioned, riding like a wild blazing saddles.

Getting back on topic....

Kepkinh Bay Rum artisan soap from Kos, Greece (Black Friday lucky dip but first use only yesterday)

A very 'natural' vegetable oil soap with only seven ingredients, including buffalo milk. Lathers up very nicely but I didn't get the wow feeling as when I first tried PAA CK6 or Saponificio Varesino. Rather it was an experience of comfy, creamy goodness as with other milk soaps like Lainess or Savonnière du Moulin.

The scent is very classic Bay Rum with bay leaves very much in evidence. A little dry but not too much. Lime is supposed to be a top note but I couldn't feel it.

Don't get me wrong, it's a very good soap with a nice scent but pricewise it's in the premium category (list is north of 30 euros) where the competition is fierce.....

Never tried this brand, but from what I can see from the lather is that isn't very high density. This isn't bad, but I prefer more persistent soaps and water tolerant, especially in this price point.

But that is just me.

You could probably just use a little less water and hit the density you prefer.

This is the main advice I get for all the soaps.

This method, doesn't work for any soap in the market, or else we would all have stayed with Proraso.
If the soap can't produce full fat creamy dense lather, even if you use as little as possible water , the result will be the same.

For what's it worth, I don't think I've ever had an issue with an actual shaving soap not generating dense lather if I got the water amount and whipping time right, but perhaps what we consider "dense lather" differs.

Proraso is crap, even though I once liked it.

Boar brushes will make great lather with anything.
