As long as it works.Yup but not as hard. Sometimes it works and that is all that counts in the end.

How did you get the photo from the inside of my car?
If you have a burger in one hand and a phone in the other how do you hit the brake light switch while driving,... or do you drive with no pants on?How did you get the photo from the inside of my car?
Anyway, on paper the two threads should not work together but in practice some do but not all. That has been my practical experience as well as that of others. Threading these parts is subject to allowable manufacturing tolerances so if they are to the edges of these tolerances they may thread to each other so that they will snug up at the end to do the job. At least that is the only thing I can think that makes a technical mismatch work on occasion in actual practice.

I understand what and how helicoils work and the tap size for an m4 helicoil is practically the same as an m5 so the helicoil would possibly screw straight in. It is never a great idea to try and rework a thread if it's not needed that i do agree on. Handles are very much a YMMV thing though I personally wasn't keen on the lo storto handle when I first got mine but because of the difference in threads to my other handles I learnt to live with it rather than permanently adjusting another. There is not enough difference between the two, not enough room for an adapter or a helicoil, and a helicoil doesn't alter the thread pitch, it restores the original thread size.
There is nothing wrong with Fatip's original handles, there is no need to change them, unless you're just looking for something to post on a shaving forum.
And, cramming/cross-threading some other handle on there is obviously a dumb idea, both the size and pitch are different, "fit" is not possible with any known standard razor handle.
You must be psychic. How do you know I drive with no pants on?If you have a burger in one hand and a phone in the other how do you hit the brake light switch while driving,... or do you drive with no pants on?![]()
Exactly so. At the end of the day if I bugger up both the head and the handle they get tossed as they are inexpensive and so consumable. All bets are off with an expensive razor though. At the end of the day it’s your razor and your choice but IMO using two parts with incompatible threads is a bad idea.
