Out of curiosity ... which patent exactly was that? I looked and couldn't find it...

Searching the patentdatabase, most inventions were done by Walter Osberghaus, and a Kurt Osberghaus did something as well.

I found German newspaper articles claiming this, but surely the patents would have expired after more than 20 years?

Well, then the search is narrowed down to 1939
The Wilkinsoncollaboration was not about patents. The had a joint venture building a razor (cartridge?) factory in/near Solingen, the year this started depends on the source, early 50'-60's. My links no longer work: Zeit Online and Solinger Tagesblatt now require registration.

Hmmmm.... I need evidence... sounds bogus...

Zeit Online has a trial login and I managed to find (and download) two articles about Solingen/Osberghaus/Wilkinson/Gillette.
Solinger Tageblatt wants money and they want it transferred from a German bank account as far as I can tell. Sod them.
I can send you the PDFs of the two articles from 'Die Zeit', or temporary links where you can download them.
Neither article mentions that Osberghaus had anything to do with Teflon blades and certainly not in the 1930s.

The Teflonlink is http://www.solingen-internet.de/si-hgw/rasierklingen.htm which also claims they sold the patent to Wilkinson. With a 20 year patent duraton, seling a 1930s patent in 1955 seems rather strange, so the 1930s probably is wrogn.
According to http://www.fundinguniverse.com/company-histories/wilkinson-sword-ltd-history/ in 1961 the Teflon-coated stainless steel blade is launched by wilkinson, and the SSblade was a combined effort in the early 50s.

The major innovation from Osberghaus in the 1930s was the stainless steel blade in 1935. But, did Osberghaus eventually figure out how to Teflon coat a razor blade in the 1950s? That's absolutely possible. No idea why German sources are saying Teflon coating was available in the 1930s.

Nice. I just missed out on picking up a Fasan on Ebay a while back. I do like my PAA slant though, which is supposedly based on the Fasan.

PAA OC slant is more or less a copy of the plastic model 1. Rather similar shaves. The red dots are different from the moel 1/PAA.

I found a patent by Osberghaus for a machine for automated branding and coating of razorblades. This was mid fifties. It cold be the source of confusion, where the coating is mixed up with the proces of coating. It also could be the patent Wilkinson may or may not have acquired.

A red one. Just what was missing. I read somewhere that the red Fasan was the "V0" of this model. Whether this is true or not I haven't been able to find out.

When I first saw this razor I thought is was a model 42 (shown earlier in this thread) with a plastic knob instead of metal, a variation Fasan made more often on their razors. So it was a bit of a surprise to find this razor was not a longscrew two-piece, but a short screw threepiece razor.
Also, very interesting to me is the bottomplate, where the underside shows a bulge around the center hole. Not often found either.
