With E-Scooters likely to become legal, I want one! even if they may be image inappropriate for a middle aged, balding fat man!

Rented a scooter last summer for an afternoon (actually 30 minutes of riding time). Great fun. I would think an Audi R8 would also be great fun.

There are commuters with the e-scooter as the main vehicle

I was in Paris last year and they appeared to be everywhere and just looked so practical and fun for getting about....

They were everywhere in San Diego, Summer 2018. They just use them, stop, leave and off they go. People make money from this by picking them up taking them home, recharging them and returning them to key points each morning.

I could use one along a local walk to get to work and back ! LOL ! Would takes ages and doubt it would have the range.

A popular model of e-scooter appears to be the Mi Pro with a top speed of about 15mph and and a range of about 30 miles. I suspect the real world range is probably less but even at 15 or 20 miles that would be viable for me I think. Not sure how long the battery performance would last though; if it is anything like my iPhone not very long.

Work is an 18 mile round journey, but the killer is from the bottom of the hill to us it’s 235 ft above sea level !!! Don’t think one would have that in it !

I got an electric folding bicycle for my wife. Much more comfortable, safer, and can drive as normal bicycle which is useful for working out and if battery goes empty while on the road

Used one in Germany for a day. Not bad once you get used to them, frightful on the roads, hated by motorists and pedestrians. A bit of a novelty item IMO.

Paramedics took away someone who was (illegally) using one in my street earlier today. Their arm looked a bit of a mess

Surely this has to be a better option. I quite fancy having a go on one of the scooters but for something to use as actual transport it'd have to be a bike.

Brompton make an electric version which is good for commuting. I’ve got a standard (non-electric) Brompton and I love it.

Fold up too, so far better options for its security.
