Cooling aftershave?

jar

We never really get cold weather here, it was 80F/26C at 7:30am, and down here heat and humidity are a constant reality. I tend to keep a bottle of Florida Water in the frig and splash it on several times a day.

Anyone else try that?

Don't live in that kind of climate. You could try Aqua Velva Ice Blue applied 3 times. By that I mean rub a little into your face till its almost dry and repeat twice more. Nice cooling hit.

Yes in the summer I love a good mentholated aftershave splash. The following I have found to be great:
Floid Vigaroso
Pitralon Classic
Alcolado Glacial

During this hot days I like to use Aqua velva and Hungarian Barbon, which is very cheap (around 1£) with good menthol balance, and feeling on face is excellent.
Ofcorse I like to put few more menthol crystals,5-10 pieces.

"Texas, a hard country on horses and women." I read your post on the fly and am not sure about posting vendor website rules? There are aftershaves in the 'generous plastic bottle of vintage barbershop splash' category often found on EBAY and a few stateside vendors. The ingredients may be synthesized or of lesser quality but a lot of bang for the buck. You may want to check out dollar stores and any Latino markets for witch hazel based products. There is an extensive line of expat Cubano products. The family were major toiletry manufacturers who were nationalized under Fidel and went to Florida. A big store downtown L.A. on the Old Plaza has them.

The usual culprits:

Floid "Vigoroso"
Proraso Green
Aqua Velva Ice Blue
Pitralon Classic
Fine Snakebite (though most of the Fine aftershaves contain menthol)
Osage Rub
Alcolado Glacial
Caola Barbon with Chlorophyll
Caola Figaro
D R Harris Marlborough and Arlington

My two favorites are Alcolado Glacial and Osage Rub. I just wish Alcolado Glacial was available to more stores without high shipping charges.

Good shout on Fine - in a similar vein, Alt Innsbruck

When I lived in Houston during the summer, which seemed to be most of the year, I used Aqua Velva Ice Blue, Aqua Velva Original Sport, Alt Insbruck and Alcolado Glacial. As a matter of fact all four are still in my aftershave rotation to-day.
