I'm certainly in a minority on this but I never got on with the Vector. I moved mine on.

I've noticed a few people saying this recently plus I don't like overly light razors. I really like the Sabre and not sure I want both.

The Sabre is a great razor - a keeper for me. I enjoy both the L1 and L2 plates.

Wish they were still producing. I doubt any Nos v2’s exist. Will have to see what they decide to do.

The v2 is discontinued. BST is your only option now. If the General returns it would be the v3 according to Colonial themselves but they haven't released the new DE yet.

Colonial seem to be throwing everything into the DE. Such a shame the beautiful General v2 is being neglected, but it is unobtanium at the moment. It has such winning lines. I think the looks were polarizing. You loved it or hated it. I love it. Art.

With the Vector SS selling well and the Ti Vector due any moment, there is stiff competition for SE’s. Who is still remaining faithful to their Colonial General? Before you ask, I have over a dozen different SE’s. I enjoy the variety.

Which handle would you guys recommend pairing with The General head to keep the style?

If you can get hold of one I would say Silversmith is the best you can do to retain the style. Otherwise I think I would put a Vector handle on it.

And the original handle would definitely be the best option, but unfortunately, I haven't seen anyone selling just the handle by itself. I do have a standard Vector (the machine-polished version), so the finishes don't match up with the General head. The General head leans more toward a satin finish, and I'm definitely not buying another Vector in satin just for the handle! lol

Anyway, I took a shave with the Vector handle attached, and while I like how it performs overall, the mismatch in finish just bugs me visually.
