Apropos careers that no longer exist, the film processing industry has gone almost to nothing, from its heyday when people bought and used millions of rolls of film through their cameras every week worldwide.

That's film and chemical supplies, photo processing labs, and wholesale camera manufacturing all gone or dwindled away.

I just remember video rental places like Blockbusters not longer exist

Internet Cafes - remember them?

In the late 90`s and early 00's they were everywhere.

I remember a guy used to cycle round on a trike and sharpen the kitchen knives on it.

We still have them around here on bicycle. Not so much for kitchen knives but most Indian homes have old school tailor scissors.

They've pretty well disappeared from our region since my childhood when Southampton became a smokeless zone in about 1967.

As well as the family chorus of "whilst you're up, can you go and get me an xyz..."

I remember the first tv we got with a remote had a wired remote on about 8ft of thin cable

We had to fight carefully over it.
