BST question

Do the ‘completed’ threads get periodically ‘filed’ out of the general section into an archive?

Piggybacking on this post!

Look, I totally get why newbies can’t just waltz into the BST section and start posting. You have gotta prove you can color inside the lines and follow the timeline rules first. Fair enough.

What I’m struggling with is why the whole thing gets hidden from view completely, like it’s some classified government dossier. I’m sure there’s a solid reason (probably involving past chaos and regret), I just don’t know what it is yet.

I could be way off base here, but I’m pretty sure the #1 reason most fresh faces join is for used razor deals. Shouldn’t we let them ( me included selfishly 😁) at least browse the forum? Let us window-shop like civilized perverts. It expands the buying pool, and if someone sees something they like, they can slide into the DMs and do their proper due diligence.

Please don’t hate me. I know this is a touchy subject and I’m not trying to swan dive into the pool … just gently nudging it with my toe to check the temp. 😅

So what you're asking is can you view the BST and then use private messaging to circumvent the restrictions? No, you can't.

Fair point, and I definitely wasn't trying to suggest an illegal underground razor smuggling ring! 😅

But out of sheer curiosity can you explain what actually is the risk if the buyer sends the cash before anything ships? From a seller's perspective, if the money is cleared and sitting in my bank account before I ever head to the post office, where does the scam happen?

I assume its to keep the vibe of the forum safe from ghost accounts? I'm just trying to understand the logistics of it all.

By the way turns out the water in the pool is frozen. I feel like i just got back handed by my father 🥲

The #1 reason most fresh faces join is for advice on technique or product selection.

So, you're a stranger to us but you want cash up front,... you think we're idiots?

I was suggesting the the other way around. Ie the seller gets my cash upfront in this hypothetical.

example:

Toby wants to sell his GameCahnger

Kikkroxx sends Toby a cool $50

Toby is happy he has the Cash

Toby ships package.

in this scenerio i would turn out to be the idiot if Toby does not ship. But my risk is small because Toby has a reputation built over time.
