Brawls and violence on air flights

Wayne, you are spot on. I used to fly out of Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport frequently where for $1 extra you could “Texas size” your drink, ie triple it. .
Good thing we don't Ontario size drinks at Pearson. They would have to be quintuples then. Texas being almost 400,000 km2 smaller than Ontario.

I'm sure most of you have seen the article in the papers about a youngish female who became violent at the end of a domestic flight in the US, and upon landing, punched an older (50ish) flight attendant in the mouth and knocked out two teeth. According to the airlines, they usually have 100 incidents of violence on flights every year. This year, so far, there have been over 2,500 incidents. I can pretty much assume that these aren't going to be 70-year old Boomers instigating violence on these flights. It's going to be the 'younger generations', i.e. Millennials, and Generation Z. What the hell is wrong with these people?
What is wrong with these people? One of two things -- either they have low emotional intelligence or they were not raised well. My guess is both.

Just to balance the argument, regarding the generation comments, it's the same generation that runs this website which hopefully you are enjoying.
Yes. I think we'd all appreciate if you could stop fighting on planes and at airports, Nishy. :D

Joking aside, at least in the cases I have read, it seems like examples are across the board, but more often involving those who middle aged and should know better. So I think generations may not be the right reason. Overall, it just seems like there's a lot more anger and lack of consideration these days, and it's not really surprising that it spills into the air.

He's a nightmare once he gets a couple of pink gins into him! :D

I would have no problem at all with alcohol not being served in airports or on planes and anyone drunk not being allowed to board. I like a beer as much as anyone but I can manage without it for a few hours.

Will the rest of you all be quiet while I talk about myself!
I have to confess to committing a rather violent act on a long haul flight to Hong Kong before the pandemic..I dropped a chocolate covered peanut under the seat...and I never told anyone. Other passengers were quite rightly appauled.
Luckily, being from generation Y I was able to whip out various electronic devices and document my struggles with the guilt on social media.
I did call Oprah but weirdly they weren't interested in my story, however I will be launching my book next year.

Never mix Babysham and Advocaat..it has the propensity to make one rather rambunctious.
