Brass General SE from Colonial Razors

It's... alive!
I had my eye on the General SE for a while now, but the price kept me off, as well as me having more razors than any one man should really have.
At least the silver aluminium heads are available now for a week and the price is pretty good. I have oodles of handles, so when I saw them available, RAD reared its ugly head again and induced a series of severe finger twitches leading to a purchase...

Yes I did. I'm pretty happy with it. In some ways, it's like the FaTip Testina Gentile, RR Teck II head type, Rocnel SE-P and the Supply Provision The Single Edge injector. Like them, there's little blade feel, but the General removes hair very efficiently. It's one of the razors I can see myself reaching for when in a hurry.
Well, to be honest, it's likely to be a TTO (adjustable Russian Gillette clone), my QShave Futur clone or my $ 0.99 plastic hinge razor, as they are really quick and easy to clean, even though they're not quite as efficient as the ones I'd compare to the General and that razor itself.

Still, great for days when I feel like having comfy shaves. :)

In e-mail they wrote:

The newly-designed handle is approximately 12.20 mm in diameter and 83 mm long. It is not slippery and gives The General a more minimalistic look. The total weight of the razor is approximately 130 grams, which is considerably more than the 44 gram aluminum version.

How does the brass razor shave compared to the aluminum version? In our opinion, it takes The General to a whole new level in efficiency and performance! The aluminum is a wonderful version, but we feel the brass is going to be loved even more by the community. If you love the aluminum version, you will love the brass even more! If you've never tried The General, we are hoping to earn your business and you can see for yourself why so many gentlemen and ladies in the community have spoken highly of it since our release in August 2016.

We have decided to stock this first batch of brass razors on April 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM ET. The price will be $99.99 + shipping.

I'm fortunate in that I love a shorter handle (even though I have big hands). I love my ATT Atlas handle which is only 75mm long. I tend to hold with thumb and forefinger near the top of the handle and just rest my pinky on the butt of the handle. Gives great control and helps to keep a light touch.

The Brass General handle is only a tiny bit shorter than the ATT Kronos handle which is a pretty standard length.
