That went well, then. I joined, succumbed, and bought one.I have to be somewhere away from the internet at 1700 BST, so I won't be able to join in the stampede.

Me too. I was out at a barbecue so thought I'd have no chance, nabbed one at 23.30 last nightThat went well, then. I joined, succumbed, and bought one.

The Razor gods willed it Men!! Destiny came, knocked on your door and you answered the call!! Stainless Steel can be very seductive indeed.....Me too. I was out at a barbecue so thought I'd have no chance, nabbed one at 23.30 last night

Likewise ...I'm a big fan. I have more GEM blades stashed away than all other blades combined.
They are very stiff, unlike flimsy, fluttery DE blades.
They are reasonably priced (from 2.4p each when bought from Connaught).
They are sharp.
They are not ridiculously wide - unlike Feather AC blades.
They last longer than DE blades.
They fit in my Ever-Ready 1912. For that alone I bought 100s of them
I'm actually not sure if I'm a bigger fan of the blades or of the 1912.

About 6 hours I think. 70+ sold in about an hour and the rest trickled out. I expected them to sell out over the weekend, but they went quicker than I thought. Between Blackbirds and Sabres, yesterday evening was significantly bigger than our 30-day Kickstarter campaign.Well I would have bought one, but I was away from my computer when these went up for sale and I missed out.
Guess I won't be running a pass-around this time gents.
How fast did the first 100 sell out Shane? Minutes?

Looking forward to seeing how it compares to the 1912s.Ordered one today and should have it before the end of next week. I am no stranger to Gem type razors so this should be a very good experience.
Shane over @Blackland Razors razors stated on another forum that he might have another batch ready within a week or two. But not sure if it's for the matte finish or polished ones. Maybe he'll post an update here soon....I could not get one in this go around because of some unexpected bills. When will the next batch arrive? I know thee will be a batch of polished ones coming in soon, but I was interested in the regular machined finished ones.

That's correct. All heads are completed and we are waiting on handles. Those could be done late this week or early/mid next week. The machined finish will be back first and, since the polished version begins as the machined finish, we'll then be able to work on getting polished Sabres in stock.Shane over @Blackland Razors razors stated on another forum that he might have another batch ready within a week or two. I recieved shipping notification today and it should be delivered by Thursday, the 29th. I've got twitchy fingers at the moment......![]()
Awesome! I still have my eye on a polished one.... If I may ask, roughly what number are you initially thinking of getting ready in the polished version? And I'm assuming it won't be a one time deal and that you will keep a decent supply of them, on a regular basis as the need arises? Thanks.....That's correct. This next group of razors will be much larger than the initial batch.
Unless I've massively underestimated demand, we should soon have enough Sabres allow the machined finish to be in stock permanently.
Polishing is incredibly time consuming and labor intensive. So while I'd love to make hundreds of them, the reality is that they will probably be in batches of 30-50 and sell out quickly. This is what is happening with the Blackbird. I'm trying to have the polished razors available more regularly, but my assumption is that they will probably be in short supply for the foreseeable future.Awesome! Got it. Makes sense. I'll keep my eyes peeled and have your site on auto refresh every 5 minutes.....Polishing is incredibly time consuming and labor intensive.
