I am quite sure FOMO and gear acquisition is a disease in every hobby.

BTW. You must be 1st place for the number of threads started
F.O.M.O. is curable when you realize great, is just gear.

Use to collect many things hobby related, then I saw light, and realized what was actually needed.

Collection dwindled down to items actually needed.

I feel like once you join a community, you get sorted out pretty quick.

However, I DO feel bad for several friends who do the daily Gillette cartridge shave for their jobs. They say they’re annoyed by by the process, but they think DE razors are dangerous. The same guys are also afraid of needles and blood, dry-swallowing pills, and are picky eaters though, so there’s that.

The love of acquiring new skills and enjoying new experiences might better explain the motivation rather than fear.

Some like soaps, others brushes, still others vintage accessories. Surely they are allowing themselves the opportunity to enjoy rather than living in fear.

I have F.O.M.O all the time with my two hobbies.
One is shaving gear and the other is wives and not necessarily my own.
Fortunately for me the two hobbies are interlinked because those husbands pay for my shaving gear to keep away lmao
