Biggest misinformations about Wet Shaving

Indeed! I have other interests outside of wet shaving which has resulted in a collection. I believe this to be normal.

It is just Shaving off Unwanted Beard, and the truth it is it can be that simple, or very complicated process. Depending upon how deep a person wants to stick their feet in water.

The U-Tube who is my favorite is a Real Life Shaving Nerd, he dissects everything, and his most interesting comments are on Soaps, Croaps, Creams, Colones, and After Shave.

He is good at directing every Scent like a Biology Student dissecting his first Dead Frog, to find every organ, bone, or muscle that made the living creature work when alive.

Me personally Scents or Smell are either to my liking, or dislike, and I do not have a great sniffer to direct every aroma in some complexed product. Yes I can smell strong odors like Citrus, Tobacco, Smoke, but I am the guy who cannot ID, Top, Middle, and Bottom Notes or Scents.

Maybe I am lucky I keep it simple about Scents, either likening, or disliking, and find some Scents soso.

Okay, fine. So why do you keep droning on and on about less expensive versus more expensive gear? One thing has nothing to do with the other. Like what you like, but please stop casting aspersions on people who are enjoying the hobby their way. Nobody has anything negative to say about what you like to use. Respect and understanding is a two way street.

I think there is a grain of truth in what @DesertIguana says about expensive kit, but that's true in any place where enthusiasts gather and I think it comes not from people who've spent on their gear extolling its virtues so much as newbs seeing expensive gear and assuming that's why the people using it are getting good results.

I have a collection of gear i could afford, and will widen it by trading, Paying it Forward, or finding new deals within my budget. Be happy and strive to do the best you can with what you got.
On the other hand, there are individuals in this world that can't achieve or can't even go for a BBS for a wide variety of reasons, so no amount of money can afford them a BBS...

I can't think of a single post that has introduced or furthered misinformation. However, there are numerous posts complaining about expensive kits.

Lets consider the newer thread about Feather and Kai Replaceable Blade Straight Razors, it has influenced other members to give these type of holders a consideration or to begin to use the ones they have bought in the past. We are simply sharing our experiences, not misinforming anyone.

I think what happened is the OP got triggered watching videos. Instead of posting their comments there, they chose to blind side this forum.

First, What? Who says pricey gear equals bbs? I can’t name one person on this forum or any other forum who states this. Maybe they get bbs results as a result of their fabulous technique. Did you ever stop to consider that? It seems to me you’re implying that guys who enjoy using pricey gear are shoving their great shaves down your and everyone else’s collective throat. You conveniently forget to talk about all the guys who use inexpensive gear and get great bbs results. Why do you set it up as a competition? Why do you feel the need to keep berating the hobbyists? This is a community of hobbyists. We welcome everyone at all levels of interest and ability. Please man, it’s enough already. We get it. You enjoy your gear and get great results. Some guys enjoy a variety of pricey and inexpensive gear. It’s all good man.

Mister, it seems to me you’re having difficulty processing the hobbyist vs. every day functional user aspect to our community. And frankly I’d always thought that just about every member of this forum and every other forum is essentially a hobbyist of one form or another. You are too. You’re a PAA fanboy. And that’s fine. Enjoy. Really.

Consider this, just food for thought… Would you say that a hobbyist is more than likely an every day functional user, whereas an every day functional user is not necessarily going to be, and likely is not a hobbyist?

That, my good man, is the crux of the biscuit you beat like a deceased equine. Those who collect beyond just the need for mere functionality do so for the pleasure it brings above and beyond mere function.
