My favorite blades, in the rough order of perference
Astra SP (Russian) - not the sharpest or the smoothest, but sharp, smooth, cheap, and with a very reliable performance. The blade I use to test new razors, because I know exactly how it performs.
Feathers - very sharp, very smooth, now also pretty expensive. Luckily I bought 200 before the price doubled.
Bic Chrome Platinum - excellent blades that I may switch to once I run out of Feathers. I don't see a huge difference in performance, and they are a lot cheaper. Had a few left from my very first sample blade pack bought five years ago, used one recently & I forgot just how great they were. Back then I was getting overwhelmed with all the different blades & decided to stick with Astras until I figure out the wet shaving well enough. I would've stocked up on Bics had I re-discovered them earlier, but I have enough Feathers and Perma-Sharps now to last me a couple years.
Astra SP (Indian) - they shave just as well as the Russian ones, but the longevity may be a bit less. Or not. Still figuring them out.
Perma-Sharps - good, really sharp blades, but Feathers and Bics feel a little smoother.
Right now, I am mostly stocked with Astras (both Russian and Indian), Feathers, and Perma-Sharps, in that order.
