Beard trimmers?

+1 for the Panasonic ER1611. I use this trimmer for over 5 years now and it works like sheep shears. I also used to cut my hair with it, before the whole barbershop thing started. Now only paying a 10er for a haircut, I let the Pro do it for me. You just feel you have a professional tool your woking with. The Barber I go to is using the same modell by the way.

I bought the Wahl Groomsman rechargeable for my son's birthday this year. It comes with a nose trimmer and also a "stubble" guard. It is $27 on Amazon.

I don't know where you are located at and what is your budget, so i didn't provide links.
Wahl, Philips, Rowenta and BaByliss have models with settings/combs even higher than you are looking for. but i'm certain that there are other brands as well.

I’m trying to find a beard trimmer with guards that will allow me to keep it at just a smidge over 3/4”, but most of the ones I’ve seen seem to be made to cut at 1/2” and under.
Hair clippers with a set of guards maybe?

This might be what you're looking for. It has a lot of guards with it, very similar to hair clippers.

He can buy at least two of any other trimmer for that price...

You can probably buy more, but will they function the same? This trimmer has many guards, which is perhaps why it's more expensive than regular trimmers. But with dedicated guards you get a better even cut. With an adjustable guard, you can have an uneven cut as the guard can move from the pressure.

Pick your favourite two or three, all with dedicated guards:

Dedicated beard trimmers don't have guards in the length the OP needs.

EDIT: This one can be called a dedicated one, and it has them all. He can buy 4. :)

I use one of these for my haircuts every two to three weeks. It works great and has been very reliable. Seems very well made. I’m sure it’ll also work for beard trimming. It holds a charge for a long time. I‘d buy it again.

Until a health thing i never wanted or needed an electric beard shaver/trimmer. But i couldn't traditional shave and my Wahl Headshaver was broken and my people got me a Manscaped(?) kit i used it as a beard trimmer.

My people knew i "needed" to shave in the hospital/rehab center and they got what they thought was a good/great trimmer, a Manscaped razor kit. I am the only traditional shaver and shaver in my group of people so a joke was made about the Manscaped name...

The Manscape(?) does a good job of keeping my facial fur mowed and the charged battery in it does at least 3 shaves before needing a charge and it's water-proof for shower trimming...

I would have suggested to my people to find a "cheaper" trimmer but in a popular brand like Wahl... i'm a poor dude who hates knowing i have an expensive thing(to me) just laying in it's box never going to be used again...
