Review Baum.be Shave Cream

I really can't get the fact that a cream in this price point has no good slickness. Like Castle Forbes. A fraud.

Palmolive anytime fellas.

I find Baume is a hydrating shaving cream and suitable for the dry Winter months in Japan.

I tend to like hard soaps, but this cream is one exception. You can get the lather just about any way you like. Thick, thin and everything in between. I have the hard soap and while I like it, I like the cream better. The soap takes more work to get a good lather from and frankly I like the post shave of the cream better and I'm generally not a big post shave guy when it comes to soaps.

ive never tried the cream before , I’ve heard its very good. I have owned the soap. although the scent was very pleasant and slickness was nice the lather seemed too thin and would quickly dissipate.it could have been my water or operator error.

Curious as to who Karl is I looked back at some previous threads regarding this soap. I guess my hard soap lathering skills may not have been the concern......

I think your lathering skills are up to snuff. It's generally accepted that the Baume.be hard soap doesn't lather nearly as well as the cream. I can get a great shave with the hard soap though. It provides nice slickness. Those that require thick protective lather are far better served by the cream. Personally, I use a couple of soaps that are similar to the Baume.be hard soap. They are cold saponified French and German soaps. The lather often dissipates with them, but the lather residue is more than adequate to provide a great shave. I use Williams too and sometimes I'll get a Williams lather that dissipates, that too still provides a good shave.

Well put . I appreciate you sharing your knowledge . Its been a while since I’ve used this soap. Years ago I picked up a puck as an impulse purchase along with another soap. To your point, the slickness was great. Though I do enjoy a nice lathering soap .My puck served me well for quick , on the go shower shaves. Therefore I am hesitant to be over critical
