I liked the knot in the T3 but thought the handle was a bit meh. The Polo handle however is very impressive. The Captain 2 however has a disappointingly small knot for the size of handle and is going to be returned.

One of the great things about New York for a shaver is Pasteur Pharmacy. The store has literally hundreds of soaps/aftershaves/colognes all on the shelves and unless in a sealed box, you can smell them. And I'm not exaggerating with hundreds -- it has the big name brands down to many artisan offerings. The only problem can be the sensory overload. I happened to go by today and while there were a few soaps/splashes I had been considering, when I actually smelled them, I wasn't interested. Glad I hadn't purchased them online! But I did find three that I simply never would have thought of, much less purchased, without having sniffed them. All resonated with me, and so I'm quite content. If you're ever in New York, Pasteur (particularly the one on 34th Street) is simply a must-visit place!

A bay purchase and not sure if the description actually matches the product. It was described as a US WWII issue. My understanding is that the issue razor had a dark alloy handle....this one is bakelite. The blades must have been a case filler as they are reversible for Micromatic use only.
