Hi Nick, great review. I've always found Noble Otter soaps to be around/below 5ish on the scent scale. Hard to imagine anyone getting frag burn from their soap. Similar realm to Zingari Man I would say.Hi Joseph,
Anything 'barbershop' always sits fine with me. Scent strength I would rate a 5.5/10, not an over strong american soap, just right for me.
Not lathered it yet but from the tub I don't get much lemon top, that may pop on the lather but the rosemary & basil notes are proud.
So it's a herbal barbershop style, not a spicy one with a ever so slightly sweet sandalwood & patchouli base being mild. No lavender here either.
I'm liking their take on a barbershop scent & it's interesting for sure.
I would like the EDP but there are no UK suppliers, the EDP's have to be bought direct from Noble Otter Finn told me from Slick Boys.
Cheers,
Nick![]()
Thanks Cal, I appreciate the reply.Hi Nick, great review. I've always found Noble Otter soaps to be around/below 5ish on the scent scale. Hard to imagine anyone getting frag burn from their soap. Similar realm to Zingari Man I would say.

It's a great soap base Nick, just need to spend some time with it like any soap. Top 10 for me easily, just misses out on top 5. You've picked one of the nicer scents as well, usually always sold out on Slickboys. Thanks Cal, I appreciate the reply.
I'm stoked to try this, I may wait for the weekend to properly nail the lather as I'm up and out the door all this working week. It's my first Noble Otter & so far I'm impressed.
I'm not what one could be considered as a 'soap label guy' but the name & presentation on the tub really looks great too & I saw it on a few of @Levi 's SOTD's & thought I'm having that on looks alone!![]()
So for the new UK Cosmetic regulations for a product to be legal to sell in the UK , there has to be a Manufacturer or their import agent who is nominated as the responsible person within the country. Most foreign manufacturers don't want to register directly as it is a load of grief so they grant the rights to an importer who takes a cut , but deals with the legislation etc. It is the same as it used to be years ago before harmonisation. The matching serum to the shaving butter received, yesterday.
Can anybody tell me what the UK responsible person means? Both butter and serum have a label attached.

To give you another perspective, for me I get more of a gormund scent out of it. I think of warm cookies, a sort of baked goods vibe with a bit of bready spice to it.Hi Nick, great review. How does the Cashmere smell David? There is no scent description on the website. These skin essential shaving butter scents, along with Wood & Lavender, are the best I've ever smelt from Peter. Amazing.
@p.b kindly sent me a sample of Vetimore and it smells fantastic. Definitely have to get on board with these when next paid. Cashmere Velvet didn’t do a lot for me but willing to give it another chance. These might be Peter’s best soaps! The essential oils just pares the scents down enough to where they’re not cloying and loud, and probably skin safer too. These skin essential shaving butter scents, along with Wood & Lavender, are the best I've ever smelt from Peter. Amazing.
I’ve got Vetimore and the lavender on the way. Didn’t go for the serum, are they lightly scented? I was thinking just getting one of the Unscented serum might make more sense. These skin essential shaving butter scents, along with Wood & Lavender, are the best I've ever smelt from Peter. Amazing.
