My sentiments entirely. It is a community and if you want real transparency and wish to set up a financial security for it then I believe it should be made into a coop operative where each member is both contributor and shared owner.

I won't go into detail for now, but if ATG is run as a not for profit organisation, that isn't remunerating any individuals, then the paperwork is straightforward and not at all onerous in terms of time

I'm happy to do this free of charge (disbursements of course will have to be paid, but these are likely to be minimal)

Don’t be ridiculous. Nishy has run this forum for years and has never asked for a dime. He’s put in countless hours to keep this place running. I don’t think he did all that work to siphon off a few hundred bucks years later. If this was a scheme it’s a pretty dumb one. Having vendors pay is the right way to support a forum.

This was just a bumbled rollout and certainly not some elaborate ruse. No big deal. I trust Nishy and I’m happy to be a paid vendor if members don’t have to pay.

Yep ATG is run as a non profit organisation. So much so that this year's server costs were part funded by myself.

I'm just going to run with donations and vendor fees as is the case currently. So far one vendor has paid (alpha brushes) and one is waiting on issues to be sorted (Blackland) the rest haven't responded and or have decided to just become standard members. I don't know the ins and outs of each vendor's profit margins etc but I was hoping be vendors would comply as it really is a symbiotic relationship as ATG is providing a target audience and platform for which sales are being made, as mentioned before.

In all honesty being referred to as a rat, or being pushed into decisions is not very pleasant. If I have made a mistake I will be the first to admit it and apologise as is evident from my comments on this thread. Just to emphasise I ahvent asked for a penny for any time spent running the forum and neither have any of my mod team, which I'm sure members will agree has run smoothly and effectively.

Also it was not only nishy who built this forum. The members did also by promoting it behind the scenes.

@Mr Bigmem and myself have sent 1500 unique visitors to this forum based only on my last two group buys alone. How many of them converted as members is hard to say but some would of, in any case this is not the point, the point is it's the members who have contributed and you would know if you had read the whole thread.

I agree Fox and I'm grateful for the work done to promote ATG I haven't discredited that ever. In the same light I'm sure ATG has brought yourself business, visitors and income. Difference being our work is unpaid or as mentioned before, at our own cost.

Yea.... That’s just how forums work. People come to where people are. So do I get credit for creating Facebook since I have a Facebook page?

Hiya yes I will ask our server owner as to how much the extra storage will cost and will publish the appropriate costings.

I think the inconsistent message that @Wayne also pointed out (money needed to keep lights on, money is contributed, then the message of giving extra to charity, then the question bout making the forum a business,) this is where I think many of us are have a WT% moment. It went from zero to 60 in 2 seconds so its natural people will be asking whats going on here. and while I've had help and PIFS from @Nishy and @Rowlers like many many members here and @Fox is like my brother I don't want people saying or doing shi& in the heat. So its messed up we're feeling heated but. I am hoping its all cos we feel passionate about this forum which is more than any single one of us
