A long overdue follow up… My frequency of use with this razor has slowed, as the lure of DE beckons me every morning; I’ve used the Rx Injector on average of one to two times per week for approximately five months now. It is impressively smooth shaving. My favorite blade continues to be the Chinese Schick; and my least favored remains the Personna PTFE. Japanese made Schick branded blades with keyed dispenser, and the Proline B20 blades are highly usable, but for as long as my local pharmacy stocks the yellow pack Chicks, I’m going to stick with them. They just work for me.

2 shaves in and it's tugging and a bit rough especially ATG. I'm using Schick's from China too. Smooths a bit with a shallow angle( handle raised more).

Keep at it! Maybe a different blade will be the charm. The Japanese blades, keyed and not keyed are very highly regarded by many people. Tbh, my preference remains the Chinese Schicks.

Yes, it really is an ingenious design. I’m going to use mine today with a fresh blade

I was fortunate and managed to get one from a Forum member, having previously being kindly loaned one by Paul @p.b .An excellent Razor, and a great alternative to larger AC Razors for anyone put off by the extra width of those Razors.
Good Shave today with a Schick Proline on board.

I’ve been using the Asylum Injector a bit more regularly of late. Probably five or six times a month, but tbh I’m not really tracking it. Another thing is my recent infatuation with the Proline B-20 blades. I’m now using up my last remaining package. I’ve used two or three successively and am super impressed with how smooth they are. Just banked one yesterday and thought I’d load up with something different today. It’s not a real fair comparison though as it’ll be memory of a used blade vs. a new sharpie. Should be fun nonetheless.

Likewise. I'd coveted this razor for a long time before, and was equally lucky in a similar way.
It's got real aesthetic quality. I love shaving with it and looking forward to use some blades I've not experienced yet.

So today I used a fresh sChick. Palm stropped it three times on each side. It’s sharp and efficient, but tbh right now in this razor, for me it’s not as smooth as the Schick Proline B-20. I’d been slowly forming this opinion over the last few months while cycling through the yellow pack sChicks, the B-20s and the other made in Japan blade with the keyed cartridge. I’ve a definite preference for the Japanese blades in the Asylum Injector. The sChicks are fine in my Type I Schick handle, but tbh I don’t use it nearly as much as the Asylum.

I think the "sChick" blades have gone down in quality over the past 8 years since I began to use vintage Shick models. The Japanese made Supply injector blades come in two types, platinum and black label. I got the black label and am happy with both the feel and longevity.
