Are we alone?

I thought about the idea of multiple universes, but there is no proof of their existence in our time-space continuum. The reasoning behind it is that the Big bang created both space and time... so maybe we can think of another Big bang which created another space and time, but certainly these two wouldn’t be pushing into one another. I assume that’s where all the sci-fi ideas come from, portals into other dimensions, parallel universes, etc...

So if the space between everything is expanding, what happens when everything is so far apart that they no longer are held in place by gravitational forces??? Presumably everything just sort of wobbles about for a bit before coming close enough to something to attract each other, and then smash into each other????

Cripes.... Think I prefer to think about shaving brushes and beer.....

Read up on Kelvin and the heat death of the universe.

Nothing to worry about - the heat death of the universe won't happen for another 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000042 years - give or take a few fortnights.

In terms of other humans, I believe we are alone. Too many factors went into our evolution for a repeat performance on another world. As for other thinking, breathing life forms, I think there are likely a few out there. As for those smart enough to figure out how to travel light years without fueling up or getting take-away at a drive-through...even fewer still.

In 1996 a bus full of people, young concert goers, was coming back from Sonic Youth's "Washing Machine" gig at the Barrowlands in Glasgow.
Travelling on the M8 - for several miles - a glowing sphere followed a somewhat parallel course at some distance, now following line of trees planted alongside the various stretches of the motorway, now ducking behind / beneath the trees and later re-emerging. After perhaps 20 minutes or so, it "flew" off, upward and at speed.

The entire bus saw it.

How do I know?

I WAS ON THAT BUS...
