Oud 24? Smashing, innit? I bought it ... and sold it ... as the scent was wonderful, but I had it in so many oils already which (a) last longer and (b) remain more personal to me on my skin ... unless I'm hot (which I usually am :D ) and then I radiate it ... in a BIG way!

Haramain's Mystique is a good spray. One I've kept, along with Jamal Ayounak which is a lovely floral rose, ambery, woody, oudy spray of lovely! Mystique is all green tobacco and quite gorgeous.

After reading your post about these on TSR i bought Oud 24 hours and Oud Isphahan there both great and seem to last a fair time,the wife prefers the Oud 24 hrs as you said for the price you can't beat them

Glad you like them. The Isphahan is really tobacco..y and strong. I go easy on it. I've had some nice compliments though wearing it. I've just got the Haramain Mystique for a mere tenner. That's value.

Got a bottle of oud 24 yesterday and have been using it literally. This is obviously all IMO. I don't get black orchid. To black orchid is a much more rounded 'male' type fragrance. This is more unisex and smells a lot more like TF violet orchid in that you have the strong Parma violet top notes which then die down (same level of sweetness too). However how it differs to TF violet orchid is that it also contains a strain of coconut and less tobacco. Apart from that the only obvious difference is in longevity or quality of ingredients as you would expect being a lot cheaper so I get around 2 hours wear from this fragrance. Decent for its price but if you want to use 3 sprays and have it last 6+ hours then get TF violet orchid.

Looks nice: the Arabs adore perfume but they tend to like it STRONG.A little too strong for my taste. Is this a strong scent?

I've been using Oud 24 for a few weeks now. Really enjoying it!

Anyone have any more recently recommendations ?

I've not been buying much new ... more, weeding out from my (erm ...) hundred or so vials.

One thing I have enjoyed is blending woods like cedar, cade and birch on top of ambers and musks. I've been using therapeutic grade essentials oils from Nikura. I love the tarriness of cade and often burn a drop to fill the room while I'm enjoying an evening Lapsang Souchong.

Exotic Arabia meets dank Albion?
