Also the restrictions on planning for trenches are about to be relaxed (or something like that) saw it last week. I’ll Google that s*** now.

Pleased we have our own driveway and can park off road in front of the charger.
Just looked it up too, that will make things easier and I like that it states that it must be an "approved" solution. I'm hoping to get a few years out of my current car so no plans to change yet, but I'd certainly consider an EV, especially with the knowledge that I could get away with topping it up from a standard plug most of the time.

An issue where I live is that two Cable TV companies have laid their cables in front of my house, separately, and along the length of the footpath, you can see the route taken but there is no clue on the depth of the cables. I can imagine some enthusiastic person is going to dig across the path and take out everyone's cable tv.
Even though they don't need planning permission it sounds like they would still need permission from the council and a professional installer. That won't necessarily stop some idiot from just digging up the pavement themselves, but that sort of person wouldn't let planning permission stop them either.

Yeah there can be a lot to earn. Things like climate control on a big screen instead of dials. One big thing on EV’s is the acceleration, quick off the mark and constant.Picked the car up last night and have done 27 miles. It’s going to be a steep learning curve. It’s like driving a PC.

A friend who lives nearby parks his electric Renault on .his drive, his garden has a highish hedge. I was walking towards his house and he was backing out of his drive, he couldn't see me and I couldn't hear him. It was a very near miss, so close that he got out to apologise, 'this is the third time it has happened, I don't know what I can do.' To his credit he was driving slowly but the car was silent, a reversing bleeper should be on electric cars.
