Yes, but there is also the amount of water to balance. Start with full amount of water with half full filter funnel and see what it tastes like then go up or down with coffee. Once you know the amount of coffee you can always reduce the water.
Just tried this - full water tank but reduced coffee using the filter - but not diluted any further with hot water or milk. I'm using Illy today and the result is just to my liking. Thanks for the tip Marco.

Hehe, your hooked...As I said whilst Lavazza id very good, Illy is more rounded. When I next go to Italy, I will bring you back some Goppion coffee to try as it is something else (really special)

Illy is a nice coffee there's a offer in tesco £4.50 instead of £6.50, You say you have the 10 cup Rob the Alessi 3 cup espresso makes a perfect two cup Cappuccino .

Hi Jamie. I prefer black coffee rather than latte or cappuccino etc., that's why the reducer from 10 to 6 cups but with full water seems to be OK for me. It makes a couple of mugs of coffee - but because its 60% espresso strength I only drink one at a time and then microwave the other.
