After having narrowed down the selection to three candidates, I ended up going for a middle of the road one.
Candidates were:
Uten Electric Hot Pot Grill: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08PF6QQB4/ (not really and air fryer, but relatively slim and both top and bottom contain heating elements).

I ended up going for the Salter Aero Grill Pro (I got mine on sale + with a voucher it came to a total of ~£90), as I wanted to know what temperature each setting corresponded to and with the Uten, it would be a guessing game until I'd have it in hand.
The Ninja seemed a bit too much money and from the YouTube videos I've seen, Ninja devices have really loud fans. I don't expect a silence if a fan is involved, but it seemed like other devices could do better, if mostly from InstantPot (I haven't really seen it compared to other brands much).
I found one review saying the Salter is fairly quiet, so I'd thought that in the worst case, it would be as loud as a Ninja while doing about the same job at half the price of their cheapest air fryer grill.

My children got one and love it. For me, I still enjoy standing over a carbon steel pan and using the oven. There is something relaxing about "tending" for me.

For what's it worth, air fryers really are just small convection ovens. The pre-programmed stuff is usually optional.
The reason why I got mine was that it should help save some time when preparing some meals, or make them in a somewhat different manner (e.g. I'd expect the combination of small space and convection to work better for some types of food to get a nicer roast).

Got myself an all in one air fryer and Iove it, it's amazing

To me it is a yes and a no to that. I grew up on the old greasy french fries and liked them well enough. Today, I still enjoy french fries but done in an air fryer. They still taste as good as ever but are more healthy not being fried in grease/oil.

Not for me - I never liked my potato chips (or wedges, or whole taters) greasy and would always roast mine dry in an oven.
It only works if the potatoes are decent, though.
Dry roasted/air fried alse works quite well with sweet potatoes, parsnips, root parsleys, carrots, beetroot...
Having said that, I'm an oddball in more ways than one.
