Lots of AI options out at the moment. Any favourites amongst our shaving group?

GPT4ALL for trying out offline LLMs and Amuse if I feel like generating an image (because it's free and runs locally).

About a year ago I went into a Peugeot showroom, I knew nothing about their range. There was a time when car salespeople used to ask about wants and needs and then suggest a model, this dipstick wanted to know all about my mobile phone and how that could control some the infotainment system in the car, this was the last thing on my mind and we didn't get round to looking at the boot space or the engine or anything else.

Typical of Peugeot is to focus on nuisance garbage.

The more BS I hear from car companies the more I want a simple electric van such as this Kia

I prefer to do my own research. I once did a search on a razor only for the AI to take me to Badger and Blade for the answer. Sorry, I'd prefer more of an evidenced based source.

We are encouraged to get students using AI. Seems strange ? No pretty much the future. I was sat with a student who had not a clue where to start so we used chatGPT. Then used this as a sort of template where student read through and exchanged words he wouldn’t use for ones in his vocabulary. Then ran it through GPTZero. This is a check tool which looks for AI and plagiarism. End result was a 5% AI which is very acceptable. Cheating ? Not really based on the read and rewrite effort put in.

I know it is the future but what concerns me is that it is an easy option, an alternative for people instead of thinking for themselves and finding a solution, even if that solution is not as effective as that provided by AI.

As maths teachers used to say to us in school before a maths exam, 'show your workings out'.

I don't use AI, but I have been contacted by a few people who wanted their razors honed. When I enquired how they got my contact, they said it was from ChatGPT. AI knows me, but I don't know AI. :)

It has always been the case that the ability to know how and where to find the information that you need is as important as the ability to retain information.
