Yeah! Incense. Technically Muattar, I think, although it was sold as Bakhoor, Arabian incense for want of a solid description.

It's chips of oudh wood (no doubt already given up their fiendishly expensive oil) soaked in scented oil, here: rose absolute and ambergris tincture.

What you do is get a hot coal on a fireproof plate or cup and pop a chip of the wood on top. It will burn and smoke ...

You can capture the smoke in your hair, clothes and on skin for an extra scent over and above the oils you've put on your wrists ... the royal "you" that is.

I've taken to using it in the evening after a good shave, drop of one of my highbrow oudhs and enjoy the smoke with a smokey Lapsang Souchong tea. My Puerh and Liu Pao cannot come quickly enough ... damn it! I mean, it is coming from China - actual China. China tea from China, whodathunkit? What an age we live in.

I've not used this one before, but the scent is quite wonderful!

If you're new to this concept, the oils are "attars" and the wood is for burning, like this incense, although many of his woods are pure oudh and really good (this bakhoor is soaked wood, wood of a lower quality) ... for a full and bewildering explanation and a whole lot of oily fun, see the link in my signature line.

I've had a quick sniff of Seville and it smells OK. A hint of citrus.

Doesn't sound like my cup of tea the first one! Ashtray isn't high up my list of favored scents lol
