After seeing all the love for vintage ever ready razors recently, I decided it was about time I did me some learnin about them.

It just so happened that while I was learning about the various models and variations, a Gen 2 Streamline/Chromium strop set popped up being sold by an antique dealer so as you do, I jumped at the chance.

As you'll see in the pics, unfortunately for the second time lately, the case arrived damaged.
While the case itself was well packed, the razor and strop were left loose and have managed to break two sections of the case, which I've since repaired.

However, the most important part, the razor is in excellent condition.
The case is missing one of the blade banks, which I'll replace at some point if at all possible but other than that everything is there, including the stopper and the original leather strap, one of the original Corrux blades and two unopened vintage boxes of Star blades.

I've also picked up some modern Accutec blades so that I can take this beauty for a spin next week.

Everything has been gently cleaned before the case was repaired and I plan to very carefully condition the leather strap just for the sake of preservation.

All things considered, while the damage was unfortunate, I have no complaints for the not so princely sum of £39

And as a bonus, my new lather bowl also arrived.

I've wanted to nab a Captains choice copper bowl for years and always regretted not doing so when there were UK stockists so I decided to just bite the bullet and import one.
Can't wait to try it out.

Wow, you guys have been March acquisitioning some really fab gear! Well done :okay:

We’ve had a ton of packages delivered here at Chez chazt since my last post above. The best delivery of all was grandchild number 4. Baby Sister, aka Grace, was born Friday morning in the wee hours. The doctors had an initial concern, which upon investigation with an ultrasound scan turned out to be nothing. Baby is fine. My daughter, baby’s mom had a bit of hypertension so they put her on a bp medication and kept her for observation. Mom, dad and baby sister are finally coming home tomorrow. I’ve been with my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter since Thursday morning. Lemme tell you. It’s intense. I’m up at 7 to drink coffee and get dressed before she gets up at 7:15 (her nightlight turns from pink to green and she’s then allowed to call for her parents :D). tbh, now at age 67 “solo parenting” is quite extreme to say the least. It’s great, great fun but really exhausting! But that’s not the point of this thread, so I apologize for digressing and return to regularly scheduled programming.

Here we go.

First, some reduced acidity coffee. I’ve been hallucinating and thought this would help :D

A few shave and assorted grooming goodies also appeared. Dr. B’s sent me a coupon for stuff I actually use and happened to need. So wtf I stocked up.

While shopping for birthday cards and gift wrap (my eldest grandchild is four years old next week), I found this at a local Dollar Tree store. They also had blue and green versions, but neither was my cup of coffee, so amber won.

This is all since Thursday. It’s now Saturday night. I gotta pay these bills in two weeks. But guys, I couldn’t resist. It was futile. Seven of Nine City. The soap dish was part of my larger splash and soap order, but was posted separately.

I’ve been itching to try the GOAT so I scratched when they offered a deal.
Paired it with my old Weber Wave handle which was the very first piece of aftermarket kit I bought when I got bit by the bug.

One more (and final BGS) order coming in next week. Until then I’m looking forward to a fresh shave in the morning. Gotta look smooth for baby Gracie!
