Received this Brad Sears brush from the drop he had earlier this week.
This was a 'seconds' brush as it's been in storage for a while and the knot looks a bit 'wild' in some places - so it was reduced by 40-50% down to about $50.
Not bad at all when I received it and the Muhle "Silvertip" synthetic feels absolutely amazing.
The handle shape is different but very, very comfortable.

Received the satin version of the RazoRock Hawk;
For comparison, here's the three models;

The leading edge on the top cap of my black RazoRock Hawk is sharp as f%^$. Is this a familial trait - what are the satin and shiny versions like @Darkbulb?Received the satin version of the RazoRock Hawk;

Just checked all three and while they are of course rather thin top caps I wouldn't say any of them would be 'sharp'.
The edges/front corners of the top cap are kinda 'pointy sharp' though.
Fiddling with all three of them now I'd say the front of the top carp on the black and chrome ones are rather well rounded - the satin feels a bit more 'sharp'/rough.
Based on that - and your comment - I can only assume that there is a bit of manufacturing inconsistencies.

Yeah, must be manufacturing inconsistencies. If I run my thumb along the leading edge of the top cap of my black version I'd draw blood. Doesn't affect the shave, of course, it is only apparent if I go along the leading edge.
From your pics, the satin one looks the best to me - the black and shiny look 'cheap'. Still and all, the black gives a pretty decent shave.

Interesting - and this could maybe explain why I felt the black one 'drag' more than the chrome one. Maybe it had nothing to do with the plating/anodization at all.
The chrome top cap feels a bit smoother than the black one. The 'worst' one is the satin one - but none of them would even come close to cutting me.
Will be interesting to see if the Satin one therefore 'drags' the most.

Yesterday the postman rang the bell three times.
1) Derby Premium Blades
I don't like the 'normal' Derby blades, but I heard that these are totally different, so I will give them a try. At the moment Voskhods are my absolute favorites in almost all DE razors, but who knows.
2) Ikon El Jefe with SE Handle
G&C received some of the blem heads, so I thought I will try one. Looks great with the SE Handle.
3) Timeless Razor
What a gorgeous razor. It looks really beautiful. Now I have to see if it also shaves well.
It's a scalloped head with 0,68 blade gap and the barber pole handle.
