69 Gillette BB adjustable. 'Cap' falls off

Hello there,
I am wondering whether any of you vintage enthusiasts could you give me some advice about my my vintage black beauty super adjustable.
On the end of the handle there is a little chrome cap which is falling off. I'm considering myself fortunate that it has not gone down the drain. But it has unexpectedly come off twice now. I am sure that it should require more force to come off. It does not appear to be threaded.
Does does anyone have any advice on how this little piece may be tightened?
Any any suggestions appreciated. Thanks very much!

If it's not threaded I would simply glue it back on, maybe with some bathroom sealant just incase you want to remove it for any reason. P.

Epoxy will sort it.
It will most likely have been a press fit, and it has just loosened over time..

It's press-fit. Don't epoxy it on unless you REALLY want it to stay on. Leaving it off makes it far easier to clean.
If it matters to you, just use a tiny dab of silicone sealant so you can pry it off in the future to clean.
