Word Association Game - What is it?

I must be missing something, I hope someone can explain it.

What I think the game is about is that someone thinks of a word that has some loose connection to the preceeding word, am I right in think that there is no end goal, no one challenges a connection and the game is endless? Is it not just a little bit too easy?

I think I must not have registered the word Association in the title.

Would it be a better game if it was more difficult? Such as the next word must begin with the last letter of the preceeding word, or have a minimum of two vowels/three consonants, or nouns only or not have been used in the game before.

Apologies if I am too thick to have missed the point of the game, I enjoy a good challenging Word game and this one doesn't appear to stretch the collective brain cells of ATG.

As I say, I must be missing something.

No rules, no policing. Just free association. There are times when you don't want to think too much, especially now.

Fine just as it is, and it does a useful recreational job. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

We do challenge the connection sometimes, but only out of curiosity.

I find it fascinating how the brain makes quick and unusual connections from a simple single word, and I have laughed out loud on occasion seeing the direction peoples mind takes them.

We don't want to restrict that spontaneous reaction with rules or boundaries of any kind, just open up your mind, throw in a word stimulus and see what pops out.

Don't think just write :)

We can play another game besides this one, your idea might work, open a thread and start :)

Ok, if it runs then great.

The word game I have in mind has a new word that starts with the same letter as the preceding word, I will post it up and see what you think
