When used as a verb, tuck: to draw together into tucks or folds; to fit snugly in a confined space. As a noun, tuck, is something tucked or folded in. Tuck is also a little known synonym for layer. There’s also a reference to an archaic use of the word, meaning rapier, or sword-like. Italian and Germanic origin. That is a good question , where did that come from ?
