Well after 54 years of life I finally got around to watching Samuel Becketts 'Waiting for Godot' I had some spare time and watched it. I really enjoyed it and in my own uneducated way I think I got it. I'd love to go see it in the theater some time as I think the intimacy would help with the concentration needed to get it's little nuances. If anyone is interested I'll post the link.

  2. Good for you. Reading the prose bored me to near suicide. You're a better man than I, Gunga Din..

@Wayne - if you like Beckett, you'll love reading James Joyce.

I performed this in junior high school drama class. I remember enjoying it, I'm not sure if those watching were equally enthused.

  6. Ulysses is a big a tome as War & Peace. Start reading it now and you'll finish by your retirement.

I know of Ulysses Steve. The only way I'd buy it is if the bed leg broke.

That's a slight exaggeration. War and Peace is twice as long as Ulysses.
And Ulysses is a lot funnier...

After reading his books, I came to the conclusion that as far as I am concerned Joyce is the literary equivalent of the Emperor's New Clothes. But what do I know, I'm an Orwell fanboy.

  10. Green Lantern for me.
