Cella ~ SOC ~ Mergress ~ Nacet ~ Proraso Balm

Wow! What a lather from the Cella, magnificent stuff... I might be getting carried away but I'd say there is very little difference between the quality of Cella lather and most of the artisan offerings available. Scent is marzipan out of the tub and almost scentless on the face, OK maybe a hint of something sweet like an almond croissant.
I recently got a whole mass of soap samples from Shavedash to try out all the raved about products. In all honesty any differences were minute and I have come to the conclusion that either I am an insensitive bum or the old established brands are old established brands because their offerings are so good, doing exactly what they should. To my mind the main difference is the variety of fragrances which are now being produced as opposed to all the old favourites.

Of course this is just my opinion and I am a perfectly sane individual. :wacky:

Hi James
Top mild for me too, only works with a Shim

Ps I did a review in this forum
Hi Mike, I did read your review of the ATT Gem HERE most helpful thank you.

My first shave wasn't good and despite it being mild I may have also misjudged the angle. I know now its best to hold the head flat against the face. I'll be shaving with the ATT G1 today and hoping for a better result. It may require a shim but I'd practice the angle first.

Absolutely loved the scent and performance on this one. A very bright and pleasant citrus; it was exactly how I thought it would be.

James,
I thought It was me getting it wrong and I persevered too. Only went good when I tried a Shim, which was a bit of a Faff to fit. I had a similar experience with Sabre V1, which was also too mild. My ATT/Gem is gathering dust in a cupboard.
Wish you luck.
Mike

First use of the Proline B20 Schicks. Far harsher than the Chicks without being any closer, and that has left me feeling a bit tender under the chin and on my neck even when using NSS Lime Original.

Off to the Chelmsford Beer Festival now for a works do
