2nd use of SuperMax Blue Diamond with Rockwell 6S (@4 plate) this time and i got a good result.
So, the combination "Razor + Blade" is very important and may vary from type to type..
Some blades work perfectly with some razors and tragicly with some others.

On my 6th outing with this great little hand crafted Razor from the USA. I thought it was the only adjustable SE, but apparently one nick named the " Superman" was produced in 1908 by a firm called W C Finney.

Today I decided to try it with a Cream, and found it had no problems clogging up, though I preferred the use of a soap in areas such as the Chin. I have settled for a medium setting on the Razor, which though quite light does not encourage you to exert undue pressure, provided that you do not rush the Shave. Having got used to the Razor, I am getting really top notch Shaves the finish of which are as good as i get from any of my Razors, and that includes SEs that use AC blades.Just a shame that I have to pass It on to another lucky Shaver.

    Today's shave:

    - Barrister & Mann Jacinthe
    - Dishi Galaxy B2 Finest Badger
    - Maggard MR7 V3A with ASP blade
    - Speick aftershave lotion

The Dishi brush is a somewhat strange thing. Sold on AliExpress as a "Silvertip", it doesn't quite behave like one but isn't a real two-band either; it seems more like a mid-quality Finest, very similar to my Whipped Dog High Mountain. Density and softness are below what Maseto offers in the same price range, and it has less backbone than my YaQi Silvertip, probably due to the loft being rather high at 60mm. (It's not floppy, though.) In this it also reminds me of my Whipped Dog HM, set similarly high, which I have tightened and improved with the help of two O-rings (visible in this old SOTD). I think I'll try the same approach with the Dishi.

The handle is very comfortable to hold and looks pretty; the design is available in five different color schemes, all inspired by astronomy pictures of galaxies and/or giant dust clouds, which is a neat idea. But overall, unless you fancy one of the handles, I'd recommend buying a Maseto or YaQi instead as the knot quality of those is clearly superior.

    A couple of firsts today.
Thanks again to @Barry1963 for the soap:cheers:.
It took me a while to dial this soap in, I think it was on the lash last night because it had a raging thirst.
Once dialed in its an excellent performer but a bit of an enigma, whilst shaving the scent is very subdued and there's a fatty undertone, once rinsed though the scent comes alive - very strange. A pity because the scent is really nice and would be enjoyable during the shave.
I only gave the brush two days of the fridge treatment as I didn't know how the badger hair would react and it's a bit scritchy but not uncomfortably so and I think/hope it'll break in nicely.
Anyway, please excuse the rambling and have a great weekend.

    Wickhams 1912 Classic 24
    Chubby 2 Best Badger
    Gillette Fatboy
    NOS Personna Star (3)
    Thayers Witch Hazel (unscented)
    Fine Platinum Aftershave

Well I scratched an itch and treated myself to a Chubby 2. And I’m really pleased that I did. Face lathering with this beauty was quite some experience. The Personna blade is improving with use. It was good on it’s first run, but today’s shave was extremely smooth and very efficient. I had planned a leisurely 3 pass shave but was pretty much done after 2. Which was a shame really as I had enough soap in the brush for around 6 passes. So I’m refreshed and very smooth. I probably smell quite nice too but I have a stinker of a cold and can’t smell a bloody thing. Have a great weekend gents.
