Last night I looked at my razor collection prior to my shave and huffed at the line up of 'nothing beats my stainless' collection. I stood there for a minute and decided to use my cheap TTO Gillette DE superspeed. This is a budget razor, which cost me around £12. I had used a Sharpie pen to restore some colour to the handle.
Well it held the blade without any noticeable chatter. I managed three passes without even a single nick. Even when I opened the twist mechanism, the blade just popped out easily. Now considering it is around £150 less than the others, you have to pinch yourself and accept its flaws with respect to its function. If I were to spend £150 to pimp it out I may get it re-plated or perhaps get a Banksy design. Either way I do enjoy a dose of reality now and again. I suppose you don't need a bullet proof vest to do the gardening.
