Softening stubble

Hmmm, my prep these days is a face wash with just with lukewarm water. Pop the razor in hot tap water in the sink while I'm whipping up lather (face still damp).
I used to do cold water shaves for a few years, but I've been getting better results with lukewarm water and a warm razor lately. I've also improved my lather's hydration. This combination made particularly ATG passes easier for me.

I don't know what makes the difference but I much prefer shaving after a shower. Plus if I'm having a shower anyway I can wash my face while I'm in there and not have to do it separately at the sink.
