Well sometimes one just has to share some of the dumb moments in life. Today's shave is one of those moments. I did my normal prep including a face wash before the shave with an exfoliator, made some great lather, soaked my brush and started to shave my 3 day growth with my Timeless .68 OC loaded with a Shark Chromium blade with only 1 shave on it. The first pass was WTG and I noticed that the razor was really singing and giving me a lot of feedback as the beard was shaved. I passed this off as due to my 3 day growth. I re-lathered and started my second pass across the grain and immediately nicked myself when the razor skipped. Thinking it was the blade I decided to change it. I rinse the razor of lather residue under running water and noticed the the head was very loose. I tighten it and went across the grain smooth as silk. I typically rinse the razor and blade after a shave, dry them and then put the blade back in the razor and loosely put it together to allow to dry. This morning I started to shave with the head only loosely attached to the handle and base. It's pretty amazing that I didn't do more than nick myself. The application of Brut aftershave told me immediately that I won't have to use that exfoliating face wash for a few days.
