How was the fishing up there in good ol' upstate Quebec anyway?
Okay, that was a cheap shot I admit. My apologies for stirring the pot, but I really am interested in hearing about the fishing. Nice fish in the OP. Walleye is a fish I don't believe we have here although the entirety of nature has been introduced in Florida. We do have pythons big enough to eat Rosie O'Donnell. Last I heard wallyeye was not one if the introduced fish...yet. There are monster largemouth though.

About the same as downstate Florida I suspect., :heat: but not as hot.
Yeah, we like it that way down here in God's country. It could be 90° (F for those not from here) every day of the year and it would be fine with me. It just about is. We get 90s about 7 1/2-8 months of the year.

We will, but in the meantime, don't let anyone run you off.
Don't worry about that. I hung around on two-stroke mechanic boards and have a real thick skin and can take, and give, a good ribbing.

Pretty awesome for the species I was going for. I go up there for small mouth. Any pike, trout or walleye caught are bonus fish.

I fish Florida too whenever I get down there. Caught some pretty nice largemouth bass, but I really go down there for the salt & brackish water fishing.

I don't get to do brackish or salt water as much as I'd like. A friend has a boat we go brackish to saltwater usually out at Steenhatchee. What I really love is floundering in the salt flats at Cedar Key. Man is that a hoot! You have to be wary if you're the one gigging though. Mullet jump in the boat and can knock you off the bow. It's not as bad as the sturgeon. Those things are so big they can really hurt you, or worse. At Suwannee Landing in Fanning Springs I've seen sturgeon 6 feet long jump clear out of the water. One thing we have in FLA you can't get up north are those great big grouper. I'd rather eat grouper than just about any other fish.

Back to Quebec. We go for small mouth but find bonus fish. Normally do not eat fish where I live because of pollution. If I catch a walleye that's in the legal slot limit, I'll eat it. This one was a bit to big to be legal, but still makes for a good picture
