PSA eBay Seller Offering Counterfeit Hones

my dream's seeing a Pike Hard Ark wheel
hi gents

I try via etsy and eBay to acquire as much Arkansas stone as possible (being as getting it new from Earth via a miner's next to impossible), believing it unsurpassed as a razor-specific natural abrasive and believing the more such stones I put in end users' hands which are shaped as wheels, the sooner the end of this very silly debate about which shape of whetstone and which shape of bevel is best for actually shaving a conscious human.

Pickings are slim, and one need shoot first and ask questions later as an awful scourge of competitors for these rocks exists, rat bastards they are.

I check the eBay/etsy listings daily for new shooters, and last week bought what was advertised as a 'vintage' combination soft/hard Arkansas stone, replete with a wooden box showing a date of 1991, from 'gerbishguy', a man named Steve from East Northport NY. Below is what I received (in first image, actual Arkansas stone's at right, note textures). Note how new looking in-hand the box (from 1991, LOL) is, nary a scratch on it, fresh saw marks and everything!

It is really amazing to me that someone would go to all that trouble to bake in their profit on a transaction of $74 finished price which includes $5.55 for the taxman and $10.36 for the venue at which the transaction occurred, that leaves all of $58.09 for the profit after sourcing this garbage fake, making the listing, packing and shipping it... the world is chock full of grown men with plenty of time on their hands, that is for sure. Not me. The meter's running and all the best stuff already happened :) Why would you trade on your one name like that?

It is clear "gerbishguy" is either a fool that buys and resells garbage after assigning his name as a trader to the deal, or a fraud, and I know which I believe. While I hate all of you also bidding/buying these old rocks with an undying passion, I do not hate you enough to knowingly allow you to be involved with things like this.
