Posting/delivering straight razors

I’m aware that Royal Mail changed their policy on delivering sharp objects such as knives and razors, but as I haven’t sold or bought anything for a couple of years I’m out of the loop in terms of how they do get delivered. Looking at EBay items for sale, Royal Mail still seems to be an option but I’d appreciate first hand experience from anyone who has bought or sold a straight razor recently.

Razors are entirely different to knives. Ebay will not allow the selling of knives. I sent a razor out on Saturday; some people like to use Royal Mail age verification. Personally, I have never had any issues; eBay is full of straight razors.

It seems that EBay insists on age verification for straight razors - at least that’s the impression I got when looking at a sample of those for sale. However, are you saying that Royal Mail will still deliver them - or are you just sending them without declaring what’s in the package?

Rob, whenever I go to my post office to post a straight razor, they always ask me what I'm sending. I don't elaborate, I just say a gentleman's razor, I have never had to explain more than this. I give them the value special delivery, and away it goes, it's always well packaged. I have never encountered any issues. PS. You are right, eBay always make you send the razor with age verification, that's their policy, still, that's cheaper than special delivery.
