Polishing a Timeless

Has someone attempted to polish the underside of the top cap?
Timeless state that this is not polished to keep tight tolerances but I find this difficult to believe as I don't see how a slight difference in thickness on that surface can affect the clamping or the blade gap...

Well, I did it. I couldn't remove the 2 circular marks around the stud, they are just too deep. In my opinion those 2 marks are the only machining defect of this otherwise perfect razor. That underside is a dog to polish...

Nice work. :okay: I imagine the fact that it's a dog to polish and can't be seen when the razor's assembled is the reason it's not done at the factory.

Yes that's what Matt from Timeless told me. And it does get scratched by the blade. The reason why I did it is that there were a few fairly deep scratches and the rust from the blade was getting stuck in there. With a more even polished surface that should be a lot better, yes it will be scratched by the blade but those are usually shallow scratches
