OSP is back

Only on the OSP branded soaps which are all natural, if its DAS&B then it'll be synthetic fragrance oil so loved by US artisans.

One of the reasons OSP never really "took off" was due to the natural scents, many felt they were just too pedestrian compared to what other artisan soap makers were doing, hence the creation of the DAS&B line to cater to lovers of strong synthetic scents.
My issue was that some scents didn’t smell the way they were advertised. Grapefruit and Menthol smelled like superglue to me. Good luck to him though, always good to have more UK artisans.

Yes I have heard that complaint before, IIRC @chris.hale found the lavender very disappointing indeed. It's a whole new can of worms, not all essential oils are created equal

I'm surprised nobody has picked up on what appears to be a £4 price increase per tub.

Zingari, a widely praised soap, sells for $22 per 5oz. OSP is the equivalent of $26. Is it really that much better?

I had noticed, but I wouldn't mind too much depending on the price of the postage. As long as the postage is reasonable I can live with it. I doubt he's making much from releasing so few soaps, but he's got to make a few pounds, or what's the point and he wouldn't bother.

So is this new soap OSP or DAS&B? P.

One of each is being released P.

There will be OSP Neroli & DAS&B Urban Viking. Originally the bases differed but James has merged them so both brands now use the old OSP tallow base, only the scents differ (essential oil vs synthetic fragrance oil.)
Cheers J, well I've got the Neroli from OSP already do that will save me some wedge! :) I won't be going for the Urban Viking, EO's for me. P.

To be fair to James he is just charging up to what the market will bear, and whilst there is a lot of competition around today I expect given the somewhat cult following the OSP brand has by releasing in small quantities the demand will likely outstrip the available supply each time.

At ~£40 a set the price is roughly in line with what an AS + Soap would cost you from one of the American artisans if bought in the UK, and Slickboys seem to have no trouble selling most of what they bring into the UK.

I have a couple of OSP soaps.... when OSP made its first act of disappearing lots of people went mad buying OSP soaps, including myself....in case they were never made again. OSP came back and after a while it made its second act of disappearing, I stayed put and didn't buy any.... I still had plenty left and deep down I felt OSP would come back again and here we are :)

BTW, from OSP website "Once that month's batch is gone, it is gone and may never be made again!" I think I'll take a chance that OSP is actually Arnold Schwarzenegger, The Terminator lol
