Neal's Yard aftershave balm, anyone tried it? £15.50 for 100ml puts it in the GFT Skin Food ballpark but the ingredients look like they could potentially provide more nourishment.

"Aqua, Hamamelis virginiana (Witch hazel) extract, Alcohol denat., Olea europaea (Olive) fruit oil*, Sucrose distearate, Sorbitan stearate, Sesamum indicum (Sesame) seed oil*+, Glycerin*, Calendula officinalis (Marigold) flower extract*, Aloe barbadensis (Aloe vera) leaf juice powder*, Citrus bergamia (Bergamot) peel oil expressed*, Citrus paradisi m. (Grapefruit) peel oil expressed*, Copaifera officinalis (Balsam copaiba) resin*, Coriandrum sativum (Coriander) fruit oil*, Salvia sclarea (Clary sage) flower oil*, Ocimum basilicum (Basil) oil*, Ferula galbaniflua (Galbanum) resin oil*, Laurus nobilis (Bay) leaf oil*, Lavandula angustifolia (English lavender) oil*, Abies balsamea (Pine balsam) needle oil*, agetes erecta (Tagettes) flower oil*, Eucalyptus smithii (Eucalyptus) leaf oil*, Achillea millefolium (Yarrow) herb oil*, Sucrose stearate, Sodium hyaluronate, Panthenol, Tocopherol, Helianthus annuus (Sunflower) seed oil, Xanthan gum, Allantoin, Levulinic acid, Potassium sorbate, Citral, Citronellol, Coumarin, Eugenol, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool."

That's a lot of ingredients for an aftershave! Looks nice though...

Okay chaps, just used this for the first time...

The bottle is blue plastic rather than glass which was a slight disappointment but it does make using the product easier, with DR Harris milk for example one has to shake the bottle and tap the end to make it flow... much like ketchup! None of that here, a slight squeeze and the product flows out with ease.

Consistency is very thin, I would call it a lotion rather than a balm, it makes L'Occitane balm feel like spreading fudge into your face by comparison! It's non-greasy so doesn't leave a shine, upon application there is a very mild alcohol sting followed instantly by a soothing feeling, this stuff is packed full of skin goodies and you can really feel it... My skin had absorbed the lotion within 2-3 minutes leaving it soft, calmed and smelling quite nice actually. The scent is a strong camphorous lavender and calendula, very herby and though I've not used it for months, going by memory it would match perfectly with MdC original soap.

I'm prone to getting overexcited about new products but this one deserves it, highly recommended, especially now we're heading into autumn.
