My Parents Made Me Do..?

My dad was in the marines during the war and I guess old habits die hard.
He made me and my brothers have, Short Back and Sides hair cuts.
He would drag us to the barbershop, where this old man, with a constant burning cigarette in his mouth and a pair of hand clippers, would give us said hair cut.
Those clippers pulled more hair out, than it cut!

On Christmas day, as kids, we couldn't open any presents until breakfast was finished.
Although we did sneakily pick them up and give them a little squeeze and shake. So frustrating ...

But with electric clippers.

Due to the lack of pulled hair, I continued with it to this very day, even though my Dad has not been about since 1980.

And bath, dress and breakfast, before presents.

Same, but different. Grandfather made my father have short back and sides against his will so my father vowed to do the opposite and I sported long girly locks until my early teens, ironically this was entirely against my will but he wouldn't have it any other way.

Yes, presents only got opened once everyone had washed and eaten... So late morning usually, pure torture for a nipper Parents these days letting their kids rip open all their presents at 5am and then moan when they become impulsive teens with no self control, parenting isn't rocket science
