after we buy our razor the most expensive part of this hobby is the shaving cream and soap
here's my best shaving cream recipe I've made yet
i'm not teaching anybody how to do nothin' but this is how i do it and it IS slightly dangerous so I don't recommend anyone try it, but for me so long as I'm careful it's pretty easy.
First I make sure I'm geared up w a sweater, gloves, and face protection bc spilling the 2000 grams of hot beeswax all over myself that i can make in a $20 melting pot is dangerous af so no exposed skin, eye, or hair- I gear up w a gloves, hat, sweater, welding mask, & full body condom. The danger is highest at the moment that the beeswax and butters are melted in w oils n stuff and it's time to very, very, VERY carefully remove the hook from the pot acting as the double boiler
Attempting to melt beeswax without a double-boiler setup can cause fire, is dangerous, and will only result in failure
I melt the beeswax and butters first in $20 aluminum melting available pot from Amazon. Once that's melted i add the soft oils and melt the menthol crystals while ensuring w laser temp gun to ensure no higher than 120 F. I let it cool to around 100 before i add the alcohol and essential oils n mix it w spoon or chopstick or whatever. I pour it into glass jars and set in aside in a cool dark place . Can be used the next day but better after a week or two.
Excellent for shaving cream, post-shaving balm, a non-greasy moisturizer for the skin whenever one if feeling a bit dry, and a replacement for leave-in conditioner or mousse/gel to add body to hair.
As a shaving cream, in & of itself this is merely a pre-shave lotion that must be activated into a full-on shaving cream w your bar of soap that contains clay for slip. I prefer my clay for slip in the soap rather than the shaving cream. The pictured soap has french (green), moroccan (red), & kaolin (white) clays in it.
Making your own soap isn't that hard either, & it's worth it. Anybody wants to learn how to make their own shaving cream or soap should check out Brambleberry's yt channel- she'll give you much better instructions than me on how to safely & efficiently make soap or 'body butter', which is what this pre-shave lotion is technically called...
this cost me about maybe like $50
a little hotter than i would've liked but it's allgood
