First generation Micromatic with PTFE blade today. The first ones didn’t have the blade bumps which followed later.

Day 2, GEM “G Bar” circa 1940’s /GEM PTFE blade, I had forgotten how well these GEM blade holders perform.

Well, I used the Bullet Tip yesterday, for the first time in over a year. The shave was fine, but tbph it wasn’t as satisfying for my tactile experience compared with the Blackland Sabre II which I’ve used extensively since it was released. The Sabre feels more comfortable in hand (i.e., better balance) and on my skin (i.e., smoother). I’ll give the BT another go next shave, then work my way up to the Clog Pruf and then finally the MMOC. At least that’s the plan…

Thank you for participating. I haven't used a GEM is over a year also.

To end, this is a GEM push button introduced in 1958, if my memory serves me correctly.

I still think the Micromatic is one of the best kept secrets in shaving. The "push button" is a milder version of the vintage blade holders. What I enjoyed yesterday was using the "lather catcher" design not to have to rinse so often.
