Less prep?

No Sir, It's the same as using hot water but your skin will thank you . Give it a go, nothing to lose.
Of course I will. I was worried only if I couldn't build a lather when using cold water..

I didn’t say otherwise..
I did not mean to imply you did. It is just that people are hesitant to try a cold water shave and saying it was awful for you discourages people from even trying it. Point is, it is not a life threatening change to try it only possibly uncomfortable. If it is uncomfortable you don't have to repeat it.

Saying it was awful for me tells it how it was, on numerous occasions btw.
Putting YMMV at the beginning of my post is self explanatory

I've kinda found the same thing this holiday, staying with the outlaws & unable to hog the bathroom as I can at home.
I've taken to using a sainsburys tea tree bar & a warm flannel as prep, cold water splash, face lather & go, does the job marvellously.

The sainsburys tea tree bars work really well as shampoo too.
Very similar to myself. The Sainsbury's Tea Tree bar on it's own is more than adequate

I like the cold water shave, but it doesn’t have to be freezing. I add a splash of hot water at this time of year, to make it acceptable, rather than uncomfortable. For the final rinse, straight from the tap. Certainly wakes me up.
