It really is all about the stropping isn't it?
I did about 300 strops before this one.
Made a huge difference.
I reckon I will do a thousand before the next one.
See if it improves again.
It is definitely a chunk sharper.

Yup, a thousand strops definitely improved stuff.

Also, the hand rubbing on the leather is coming along lovely.
It is looking a lot happier. (as am I)
I am loving that. Using our own natural oils. Beats getting products doesn't it?

I reckon I will go another thousand and see if that improves things. If not, I will know i have reached the limit of that eh?

Well, the thousand improved things.
As did the next thousand again.

Then I did a run of 7:1 and that knocked it up a level.
I don't really understand why. I know it is because it is asymmetrical.
I shall have to look into it more.

Wow, thousand laps on a strop and I thought I was on the verge of over doing it by doing 40 laps on linen and 100 laps on leather. OTH what ever works.

tbh I am just trying stuff.
I wonder if you can overstrop?

I am keen to try the 7:1 thing a bit further.
That was pretty exciting.

If you are stropping properly I doubt that you can over strop unless you are using a pasted strop. With a pasted strop you can over do it.

I wondered about the 7:1 thing. I believe that is when you are honing a tradition asymmetrical grind kamisori but is not applicable when you hone a western symmetrical grind kamisori. I don't think I have ever heard the 7:1 routine applied to stropping any kamisori but I could be wrong.

If you haven't seen this video already it might be useful.
